Charity gift cards are primarily created to support charity. The card works by allowing the gift card recipient to donate money to the charity of their choice. You buy and give a gift card with the intention of satisfying both your recipient and the charity organization.
The list of charity beneficiaries are usually posted by the organization that offers these charity gift cards. Some would limit the recipient’s selection to two or three, but there are some who simply allow any number. This gives the recipient the chance to select the charity of their choice.

However, you should note that there could be catches in such type of cards. Such include some charges upon purchase of the gift card. Some would deduct a fixed amount and some a fixed percentage. Another issue is the validity of the gift card – most have only a year before its expiration.
