Outdoor apparel retailer Eddie Bauer announced plans to reorganize under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy code. As stated in Eddie Bauer’s official website, the company will still honor gift cards.

We are pleased to inform customers that gift cards will be honored at least through the date of an auction of the Company’s assets or September 1, 2009, whichever comes first. The date of auction has not yet been set. If CCMP, the proposed purchaser, is the successful purchaser of the Company’s assets, CCMP has agreed to honor all of the Company’s gift card obligations following a sale.
