One advantage of a gift card is to relieve the donor of selecting a specific gift. Because of this arrangement, gift cards are highly popular alternative to non-monetary gifts. The recipients are given the flexibility to choose their desired gifts. Generally, there are two types of gift cards – the plastic gift card and the electronic gift card more commonly known as the e-Gift card.
Gift cards vs. gift certificates
Aside from their physical appearance, gift cards differ from gift certificates. A gift card is an electronic card just like credit card, except that it contains a stored value.
On the other hand, gift certificates are paper documents sold by a business for future service. Gift certificates can be authorized through the identification number and signatures found on the certificate.
