The preferred method is to check you Sephora gift card balance online. You can visit their site here. Again, you also need your gift card number and the 8-digit gift card personal identification number or PIN. These information can be found at the back of the gift card.

Note that prior to checking your gift card balance either through phone or online, you have to activate your gift card as instructed.
